What is Neurotransmission?

Neurotransmission is the process by which signaling molecules, known as neurotransmitters, are released by neurons to communicate with target cells, including other neurons, muscles, and glands. This communication is crucial for all nervous system functions. To learn more, check out "What is Neurotransmission?" from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
